Summer Camp Huge Success!   UT Kitchen Workers and Vendors Needed

Seymour Middle School Choral Booster Club
Volume 2, Issue 1
September 8, 2006

Summer Camp two weeks prior to school starting in August was a huge success. Everyone was excited about seeing each other and learning the new music. Everyone brought their "A" game to the music room. Dancing was enjoyed by all. Portfolio's were started. Music theory was reviewed. Skits for madrigal were practiced. Storyboards for songs were made. A lot of food was eaten. Best of all—tons of practice singing was completed.

Many thanks to those volunteering to make this camp the success it was.

Our students have the jump start musically that they need for our singing obligations this school year. We are honored to have been selected in a blind audition for an opportunity to share with the world what Seymour Middle School has to offer at the American Choral Director's Association Convention in Miami next March. We started the school year singing and ready! Yeah!

Join the Booster Club and receive your newsletter and updates by email. If you have not joined, please fill out the attached form and return it to school.

The Choral Booster Club is working in Kitchen #2 at the UT stadium this year for home games. The moneys raised in the kitchen will be applied to the booster club budget. The budget includes such things as Madrigal expenditures, music, camp expenses, publications, chaperones costs, and a huge amount saved for the auditorium.

We need you! Half of the money raised last year came from working in the kitchen.

Contact Melinda Dunlap at 579-9180 if you can work a home game.

Tennessee School Board Association Presentation

Last spring, the Eagle Ensemble applied to sing as entertainment for our Tennessee School Board Associations' Convention in Nashville in order to be recognized at the quality choral program that we are. We were accepted to entertain our esteemed representatives state wide. With the Booster Club's goal to supplement the county budget for our auditorium, the appearance in Nashville can only help us. We will leave school Monday, Nov. 13th, spend the night in Nashville and sing Tuesday Nov. 14th at 9:30 AM at the Opryland Hotel.

Our superintendent, Mr. Parton, Is proud of us.
